Sailor Wool – A Stylized 2.5D Cinematic

A personal reimagining of the iconic Sailor Moon opening sequence, envisioned through a tactile and "cozy" lens. In this study, I transformed the classic characters into cuddly animal forms within a handcrafted world, focusing on achieving a high-fidelity physical feel.
Look Dev & Technical Art
Procedural Felt & Shading: Assets were modeled in Blender with a focus on clean, "chunky" silhouettes. I utilized a procedural system (Woolly) to develop the realistic texture of pressed felt and wool fibers.
Cinematic 2.5D Pipeline: After rendering the assets, the scene was assembled in After Effects using a multi-plane layout. I animated a 3D camera to execute an immersive Z-axis "dive" transition, passing through the character silhouettes for the final reveal.
Motion & Compositing: All secondary animations—including hair movement, spatial parallax, and translations—were managed in post-production to ensure precise cinematic timing and a polished finish.
Tech: Blender, Woolly Add-on, After Effect, Photoshop.
